* Because the hotel only offers smaller van-type bus service, it would be appreciated if those with private vehicles use them whenever possible. (Memorial is only 3 miles from hotel)
** The reunion this year will “officially” end on Saturday after the memorial service to allow our members to explore the villages of Taos, Santa Fe or Albuquerque or as Association member Brooks Wilson has suggested take a side trip to Chama, NM to travel the railroad system were he spends his summers. This railroad system offers a day trip through the mountains of northern New Mexico and southern Colorado. A lunch stop is included and the cost is about $75., but well worth the cost and time to get there. Unfortunately, there is no bus service from Angel Fire, so those with vehicles can drive and maybe give those without transportation a ride.
*** Peggy has been thinking of taking all those who might be interested for an afternoon in Taos. This will probably be on Friday morning during the same time period as the business meeting and allow those interested to shop, visit the art galleries, or get their hair and nails done for the banquet that evening. Maybe from 9:30- 2:30, which will give you all enough time to “take 10” when you get back and still be ready for the evenings festivities. Please indicate your interest when registering. The cost and schedule for this trip will be determined by the number of registrants interested.
To get to this year’s reunion:
Fly to Albuquerque, NM and rent a car and drive north on I-25 through Santa Fe and then follow the signs to Taos and Angel Fire (about 2 ½ hour drive)
OR Take the airport shuttle to Angel Fire which leaves 4 times daily and costs about $60. one-way or $115. round-trip. To make a reservation for the shuttle call : 1-505-751-1201.
